Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday, a fairly new tradition started in 2012 to provide an alternative to unofficial holidays or traditions like black Friday and cyber Monday. Even though it has been around less than a decade, the estimate for Giving Tuesday 2019 for online donations was $511 million, and the estimate for the total across online and offline donations was $1.97 billion which is significant money for thousands of organizations.

This year, Giving Tuesday will be even more important. One of the main reasons I wanted to highlight it is I have already seen a number of organizations offer matching for donations. Some Boards of Directors are matching donations up to a certain amount in addition to large businesses across industries matching donations through various platforms. Unfortunately, many people will not be able to donate this year and many more people will need help, so if you are able, please look to donate to your favorite organizations on Giving Tuesday.
